Seasonal Job Vacancies

It is the time of year, once again, when we start looking for seasonal team members across the Museum. March to October is the busiest time at the museum so naturally we need a little extra help to keep the things running. In the Transport and Industry Team we have vacancies for Engagers, working ‘front of house’ to give visitors the best possible experience of the museum. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent engagement skills and an understanding of the museums operations.  Opportunities are available across the Department in the Tramway, Steam Operations (Road and Rail), Colliery and Fairground teams. As the pictures below show there is no such thing as an ordinary day at Beamish. From conducting on a tram to operating our 1893 Gavioli fairground organ spending the summer season at Beamish will leave a lasting impression.

Prior knowledge of the roles is not essential as successful applicants will receive full training for these specialist roles. PCV Licences, for bus drivers, would be an advantage but not essential for applications to this role

The Team is made up of people from all walks of life, both as staff and volunteers. They may have an interest in transport and industry or want to get out and meet new people. They may be young or not so young, they may have had a career elsewhere and then come here for enjoyment, or they may be making a career of working in the museum. Whatever the reason for people coming to Beamish we are sure you will find it a rewarding experience.
